Need Help Please!

I’m a 23 yr old male. I’ve got a 2 yr degree from a community college in criminal justice but want to head in a different direction. Problem is I don’t know if I’m too old to be heading back to college now and starting over. I never took the SAT’s because I was out sick in the hospital for a month when it came in highschool, and my college never required them. Is there a site I can go for some clear answers on this? I really want to go back, but I’m just worried that it might be too late. Thanks for any help.

You aren't too late. There are plenty of colleges in which the average age of undergraduates is your age or older. There also are plenty of colleges that have special programs for students like you.

You could go back to your community college and ask for advice on colleges that might welcome you. You also could call the admissions office at any 4-year college in your area and ask their advice.

I know plenty of people who were in their 30s and 40s when they started their undergraduate education. I know people who are in their 60s and even 70s who are in graduate school, and are welcomed and are happy.

Go after your dreams! Warm wishes to you!

Here's a link to James Madison U, which offers a program for adult students who wish to get undergraduate degrees: http://www.jmu.edu/adultdegree/progdescrib.shtml

Here's a link to another school with a program for adult college students: http://www.uno.edu/~admi/nontraditional.html#special
