This is the prompt of MIT supplement:
Describe the world you come from; for example, your family, clubs, school, community, city, or town. How has that world shaped your dreams and aspirations?

How to understand "how has that world shaped your dreams and aspirations"?

Is it only about future goals?

Can I just write how this world has shaped the person who i am today? (like personality change, but nothing about future goals?)

The idea is to write about a meaningful experience that you have had, and what it inspired you to do.

If you’ve ever built or made anything, its not bad to talk about that. The point is basically to give them a sense of the world you are coming from.

Holy s**t. I can’t believe MIT took the UC system’s prompt… unbelievable.
From the perspective of the UC prompt, you can talk about either of the two.
