need help with college search

i'm preferring near the north east of US, or CA.
the universities on my list right now are
MIT
harvard
stanford
CalTech
UC, Berkley
Cornell

i'm thinking of applying to brown as well,

now i need to apply to other universities so that if i get rejected by these universities, i'll have a back up university with me.
thanks a lot

my gpa is ~ 3.8
i still have to give my sat 1 sat2.

please suggest names..
i prefer uni's not religiously affiliated, and teh admission should be competitive.
but remember the names of colleges i'm asking for should be of a bit low standard because these are back up universities.

thanks a lot.

University of Rochester
What will your major be?

If you're going to apply to Berkeley, you may as well check off some other UCs, like UCLA, since it's the same app.

Please suggest names? Good grief, there's 4000 colleges in the US. We need more info than your stats!

What size?
Urban, suburban, or rural?
Do you need housing for four years?
Is financial aid an issue?
Do you prefer an active Greek scene or don't care?
Would you prefer a 50/50 female:male or don't mind an unbalanced mix?
Is there a sport you'd like to continue?
What major are you considering?
Are you considering a second major or minor?
Do you plan to study abroad?

Size: Doesn't matter
Urban,suburban: Doesn't matter
Financial Aid: I'll apply, accept grants and scholarships, and reject all loans.
male-female ratio: don't mind, but it should be co-ed
i don't care about the greek scene
sport: i play lots of sports and am good at it. maybe i'll continue soccer, and do someothers just for fun (swimming, archery, etc)
major: no idea, but it's definitely related to Science. definitely not related to medicine, economics, business, politics, government, art, social sciences etc.
i have no idea if i'll do a second major or minor yet.
studying in usa only.

remember i'm looking for good universities, but ones easy to get in. so that if i get rejected by the ones i mentioned above, then i'll ahve a back up university.

i think i'll apply to ~ 15colleges

3 groups of colleges

1st group of the ones i mentioned above.
2nd group not that hard to get into
3rd group not a problem to get into...
so that i won't be sitting blank if i get rejected.
so please give names..
one last thing, it should not be that hard be transfer from these colleges to the ones i mentioned above..
thanks a lot!

University of the Pacific in Stockton has a reputation as being a good private safety school for the sciences. Are you from California? Most California students use the state schools as their back ups unless they want a small school.

Yes, i'm from california.
state schools in CA like berkley, la, santa barbara etc. are pretty selective too. would these be OK as a back-up (berkley's not for back up ofcourse)

bump
still need more names.

without an SAT score this is impossible, come back when you take the SAT. Also, the lower UCs should be good safeties if you have a decent score.
