Currently i am a high school senior graduating in 2 months. I got accepted into a few cal states but i want to go to a better school so most likely i will go to SMC then transfer to UCLA. That is where i need help i don't know what classes or how to organize my schedule. I know about the IGETC but i don't understand it i have been really stressed out thinking about this for the last couple of weeks because i don't want to spend more than 2 years at SMC. I would really be thankful if someone could help me create a good plan for my next two years at SMC that would give me a solid chance at getting into UCLA. Math has never been my strongest subject i placed into math 31 in the assessment test(i might retake) and English 1 and i want to get a degree in Business Economics or just Economics will my lack in math skills hurt me in trying to get this major? I really Hope someone can help me because it's really scary thinking about falling into the community college trap.

Talk to the transfer counseling office at SMC and get really good grades. SMC has about 500 students a year transfer to UCLA so they know what they are doing in that counseling office.

UCLA has info on that too https://www.admissions.ucla.edu/prospect/adm_tr/ADM_CCO/tap.htm

The counseling office will help you put together an education plan. You can start out by learning about education planning -
http://www.smc.edu/AcademicPrograms/Counseling/CounselingCourses/Pages/Educational-Planning.aspx

and what classes are required for your major (economics) in order to transfer to UCLA - http://www.smc.edu/AcademicPrograms/PhiSoc/Pages/Economics-Major-Requirements.aspx

and IGETC requirements - http://www.smc.edu/StudentServices/TransferServices/AreasofStudy/Documents/igetc.pdf

Looks more complicated than it is.

Use http://www.assist.org to plan courses to transfer from a CC to a UC or CSU.

For example, an SMC student trying for business economics at UCLA would want to consult this list:
http://web1.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=SMCC&ria=UCLA&ia=SMCC&oia=UCLA&aay=13-14&ay=13-14&dora=BUS+ECON
Regular economics at UCLA would require these courses:
http://web1.assist.org/web-assist/report.do?agreement=aa&reportPath=REPORT_2&reportScript=Rep2.pl&event=19&dir=1&sia=SMCC&ria=UCLA&ia=SMCC&oia=UCLA&aay=13-14&ay=13-14&dora=ECON
