Need info. about living costs

whats up everyone,

I am planning on transferring to Cal Poly Pomona in about a year or so… I currently live in Riverside, CA and well since its quite a drive to the campus, my wife and I were planning on just moving out there, so it would be cheaper on gas.

However, I dont know what the living costs are like out there? Since the dorms are no co-ed, I dont want to live on campus, so what would be the average cost of like a 1 bedroom apartment out there?

we really like the idea of living close to campus so we could just walk there, but we always dont mind if we have to drive a little either

any iformation would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Really depends on where you want to live. 1 bedroom apartment at The Crest apartments in the upscale Pomona neighborhood of Philips Ranch will set you back $1,400/month.

For that kind of money you could probably rent a 3-bedroom home near downtown Pomona.

wow thats pretty high up there, i was really hoping to get something cheaper…

I feel like it is better to rent an apartment, because renting bedrooms from random people is bit uncomfortable

If you don’t mind commuting 10 miles to Pomona, surrounding areas like Duarte, Azusa, Glendora, Diamond Bar, West Covina, etc offer some decent 1 bedroom apartments for $1,100+. Plenty of listings on apartments.com, craigslist.com.
