Need legging help

My Aligns were not see though, but clinging to every shape.

True confessions, my daughter worked at Lululemon when she was at university, I wish I’d taken more advantage of her discounts back then, but I loved all the hand me downs. My girls all still have their first pair of Lulus, all over 20 years old and doing fine, though pretty flare legged.

I have several pairs of these Land’s End pants. They are very comfy. The only thing I don’t like is that the color fades fairly quickly. Maybe if I washed them differently that wouldn’t happen, but I’m a throw everything in one load type of gal.

I have some weatherproof pants from Costco. They’re pull on, lightweight, nylon and wash up great—I believe they were about $20. I bought them in black but believe they come in other colors too. As a bonus, if they get wet from rain or whatever, they dry quickly.

I really like Old Navy compression leggings. Cheap and very high quality. Alas, very skimpy stock right now–anything I would consider is not available.

Wait, you guys are wearing leggings out in public someplace other than to and from yoga class? I’m only 5’8” , there is no top that covers my backside and doesn’t ride up that isn’t dressy polyester blouse type top.

My leggings reside in my closet. I keep thinking I may use them for travel, to wear under dresses when it’s cold, but so far haven’t.

Thank you very much for the straight-leg, comfy pant recommendations!!

I just want something warm, presentable, and not squishy! LOL Will check out all the recs!!

Here is the sweater I bought that looks wonderful with the patterned leggings (or black) that covers the backside. I am very sensitive about that and is one reason I’ve never worn leggings with a shorter jacket or top. Those athletic leggings actually made my bottom look not horrible, held it up like spanx , which is a miracle. I’m hoping the larger size legging still does that.

Anyway, genre is that sweater, it feels luxurious on and you need to size down. I bought it in the Shasta purple.

I saw it on a gal last month at the mall and loved how it just covered everything, without looking hugely oversized.

Super cute sweater. But dang it, another item for my wish list!

Yes I wear leggings out of the house. If leggings make you uncomfortable, joggers are very in right now. Joggers have come a long way since the baggy sweatpants of old.

My friends in their 70’s wear leggings with a longer tops.

I really like lululemon aligns. I think the salutation material from Athleta is pretty comparable. But they are not for winter weather where I live, not for me. The wind blows right through them. I’m a huge fan of the Zella live in leggings for winter. A little thicker fabric.

I have the “kick flare” pants and I love them! One the best purchases I’ve ever made! Just enough of a flare to set them apart from regular leggings, and a perfect length for me (I’m 5’6" and like my pants to be a genuine ankle length). The fabric is a great quality, on the thicker side, and not overly compressive. I dress them up and down. I’ve had them for over a year and they look brand new. Would definitely recommend!

I also love Athleta and wear them probably 5 out 7 days (I force myself to put on jeans every once and a while). Athleta has always been true-to-size for me. I don’t size up in leggings because they fall down and that drives me nuts! I always wear a longer top or jacket that covers my rear and front area though.

I have a few Zella’s and they’re ok (I get them dirt cheap from Nordstrom Rack) but they start to fall down after a an hour or so. I want to try the Align but am trying to get them on a markdown and so far the only ones I see marked down are the crazy prints and I’m not a crazy print person. I also have some from Prana & Lole (the latter is a Canadian company).

The Zella that is sold at The Rack are made just for them. I think the quality isn’t as good.

My go-to daily favorite leggings are Zella (not the Rack version). Live In High Waist leggings. Sold at Nordstrom or eBay works too. They are thick enough so they don’t show curves like Align. I wear Lululemon for exercise, but these Zella ones are the best I’ve found for all-day wear. Good luck!

We had an epic leggings thread some years back. It went on for PAGES!!!

It’s ok if you don’t want to wear leggings. It’s ok if you do. We all have different comfort levels, body shapes and daily routines that differ. It’s a rare occasion that I put on jeans - but I have leggings for all occasions! I wear them to work a lot in the winter - under my dresses and skirts. Feel great, keep me warm. I have them in varying lengths - 7/8 being my favorite.

I have some inexpensive ones that are fine but I have to admit I have never had a pair of Athleta leggings that wear out. I machine wash but always hang to dry.

I live in my cheap leggings with side pockets from Amazon. I’ve been happy with several brands from there. Thick and no show.

My neighbor is a Lularoe rep. I’ve never been because I don’t like crazy leggings, nor did I wear them really. I went to support her and found a pair of really cute plaid ones. They feel great and don’t show anything! However, they are fairly thin, and don’t compress so I’ll just continue to wear them with long tops.

Good to know. I do have on a pair of ribbed Zellas today from regular Nordstrom and they do seem to stay up better than some of the others.

Thanks for the link. I like finding American made items, and this will be a perfect Christmas gift for one of my daughters.

I personally don’t like Lularoe. I think the fabric is way too thin.

Never liked them (possibly the ugliest selection of prints ever to be made into cheap clothing), but even more so after seeing the recent Netflix documentary.
