Plus! Oddly, their solid color tops never were in any colors that matched the bottoms prints….or print tops there were no solids that matched the colors. Who decided that marketing??
Around here, there used to be a LOT of Lularoe sales people. That has totally dried up.
From as fashion standpoint, I’m not even sure what would entice someone to buy even one pair (maybe to support a friend selling them?), yet I know people who have 50+ pairs
This is to show you the cute ones I bought to support my neighbor. They are very comfortable. There were only 2 prints I liked. I agree, no tops to go with them. I did buy this cardigan from her and it matches fairly well. I’ve been wearing a black dreamers hi-low top with a burgundy bralette when I run errands. I actually so see why they are liked.
I have these leggings in gray. Got them last year because of D’s recommendation of being no-show. And they have pockets! They seem to be on a really good sale right now or being cleared out. I know not everyone likes the high-waisted ones but these are super comfortable.
I sized up from medium to large and it worked out well, D who is more of an xs-s cusp, gets a medium.
I wear them with a long top but D pairs it with short tops and it looks great on her!
They have a newer style with a fancy waistline but I have no experience with those.
The Align? Yes, I stalk the ones on Poshmark (and on my local FB marketplace), but they get scooped up in minutes! Maybe I’ll put them on my Christmas list! I do have other Lululemon tops & jackets that I’ve gotten on sale - no luck on the leggings.
Definitely one of their milder prints. I’m not a prints girl for any item of clothing (unless the print is nearly undetectable), so take what I say about the prints with a grain of salt
This is a cute outfit and looks like you have styled it well. I think you’ve mentioned before that you are on the tall side (?) and thinner so I bet it looks striking on you!
@Jolynne_Smyth Try the Skecher GoWalk pants. They have them at Costco but probably sell them elsewhere as well. Thick and straight legged and they have pockets. Super comfy. Just a bit long if you are on the shorter side.
Lysse makes great leggings including flared ones and “jeggings” that do look like jeans. I recently bought a pair of ponte flared ones. Very flattering and comfortable, too. Lysse’s leggings fabric is thicker than Lulu’s or Athleta’s.
Mamom111- thanks for the Skecher rec! I will check out! I am actually mid-height (5’ 5") but have longish legs so regular can be short. Sounds perfect!
Marika are the only leggings I’ve ever found/worn that aren’t see through when stretched - I’ve had 3 pairs over the years, they last forever. My newest pair now have the pockets on the side of the leg (convenient!) and are very nice. Their colors don’t fade either. I hardly ever buy a brand of anything on the brand website, but with these I do because I don’t want knock offs.
I don’t know that I’ve ever had a pair of leggings that are see through. And YES, I do look in the mirror!
While I understand some fabrics may be thin, I have to wonder if it’s a matter of asking too much of the stretch of the material? Another case for sizing up if they can fit in other areas.
This is my take. I’ve seen see thru leggings. There was a time where lululemon changed their fabric and the result was !
It usually happens when you bend over and if you aren’t wearing underwear, the person behind you gets a view!
There are people who gain weight but leggings stretch and they keep wearing them. Leggings are forgiving to a point. They get old and the fabric thins.
Great reminder. I always do the test and do a hand test (put my hand into the waist are and stretch away to see how much the fabric thins out). Maybe that’s why I have not seen see through ones. Also, Lycra is not a forever thing. Even chlorination in our tap water chips away at it, so I trash my leggings and tights when they become worn - regardless of how much I paid for them. Just like swim suits.
Also, some mistake footless tights for leggings. The former are meant to be worn under dresses, the latter are meant to be worn as pants with longish tops. Fabric thickness is definitely different, and that is usually reflected in the price.
