This may be silly but what do girls wear in the winter when the school doesn't allow jeans?

It's going to be cold so I suspect Uggs and Northface are essential but what for bottoms?

idk, really cute khakis, or jeggings, except not in jean fabric. or miniskirts of somesort with cute tights and boots.

Here in PA, we wear cords a lot. Also khakis, like candidate said. You might want to wear a long, warm dress and tights, or a khaki skort and leggings. Oh, slacks help too. You can wear velvet pants also, but only for special occasions because they are tacky.

hey pittsburgher, im going to pa next year. so they dont allow jeans, so i guess what u said is it right?

where in pa? near Philly or Pittsburgh? It can be colder in the Laurel Mountains area in Western Pa. Philly is slightly warmer because its closer to the coast. Erie has crappy winter weather. lake effect snow is so plentiful up there… egh

Lol I think he means Phillips Andover.

hahaahahahahhahah, yeah, I think he meant Phillips Academy…

Andover allows jeans, don’t they???

im a girl!! and yea i meant phillips academy. haha all of a sudden i have to restablish my gender haha.

Andover and Exeter allow Jeans. I believe Deerfield and Choate don’t. But it’s going to be super cold so any more suggestions?

Also no leggings as pants…

Just in general, leggings as pants look stupid… especially if you can see your butt through them… or underwear lines. just not attractive. WEAR REAL PANTS. but do wear leggings under a tunic or shorter dress :)

A lot of people wear sundresses over long sleeve shirts or with a sweater and leggings and Uggs

wool miniskirts and sweater dresses with tights and uggs are good. i LIVE in cords during the winter (black jeans, too). I’m getting bean boots as well, once i make enough money.

exeter allows jeans? I thought it was a formal dress code??

^only really for guys and even then not that much. Just look presentable. They have specifics tho

In the E book (for Exeter) for the 2009-2010 year it says:
For Girls: dress, skirt or nice slacks and no overalls.
I think jeans would be acceptable though I would find pictures on their website to support that fact.

exeter students can’t wear jeans (unless they’re not ripped or blue- that’s mx’s rule, anyway). nice slacks= cords or khakis or something along those lines.

exeter’s dress code isn’t really enforced for girls.
my host on revisit day was wearing normal jeans and didn’t get in trouble

My daughter does not wear the dress pants I bought her to class at Exeter. She said no one else wears dress pants. But she doesn’t wear jeans either; she wears cords or khakis or a skirt with tights. When it is really, really cold she wears leggings under her cords. The girls do have a dress code but it is not terribly restrictive.
