Need legging help

All of my leggings ( the casual wear ones, the ones for running and the ones for yoga) are from Athleta. None have ever been see through.

I guess I’m also an old lady

If you bend over, yup, they can be quite see through (even if they’re not ultra tight)! I’ve seen girls and women on the street and in certain light, yup, see through!

I’ve never had an issue with Athleta being see through either - but I always wear a top that’s longer than my rear-end. #oldlady

Or a thong type undie - so no panty lines…

I’m too old for self-inflicted wedgies. Hence, these VPL-less undies:

I also like Zella for leggings to wear to run errands. I bought one pair at the Rack and it is not nearly as nice as the pairs from Nordstrom. I do wear them for pilates, as well as leggings from Lululemon. I prefer the ones with pockets.

I don’t wear leggings just because….but I do wear jeggings. The ones I like best are from Chico’s. Nice fabric, back pockets, good fit. Decent price.

I’ve got a couple pair of the Yogipace straight leg leggings from Amazon. I like them because they’re nice and thick (for winter), have front and back pockets, and come in different lengths so they’re not too long on me. They have regular cut and boot cut also; I like the straight legs, though.

I ordered a pair based on your recommendation and wearing them now. Can’t beat the price.

I’d have to look through my piles and see if I got that brand before. I’ve found many of them pretty similar. I like the phone pocket.

I like the <$20 ones I got from Costco. Wore it all day yesterday, including to dinner last night. They were comfortable and just the right warmth.

I’m all for economy in purchases. Depending on the item - and it’s use in my lifestyle - I will put quality first - but if I’m lucky in tandem with economy by using reward points or discount codes…

Point being - in this case for leggings……what is your purpose and use of the item? Are you going to wear them around the house? To go to a casual restaurant on occasion? Wearing them daily? For exercise? For intense exercise?

I have a wide range of leggings. There is a good purpose for my under $20 Danskin leggings from Costco (perfect for cold days dog walking) and their is a purpose for my more expensive Athleta ones (running, trail walks, paired with a dress or skirt).

So hopefully we have helped OP but really I think it helps to know a person’s purpose and what they hope from longevity from their leggings - a now CRITICAL part of my wardrobe!!!

Totally agree on LuLaRoe. It’s junk. Plus, I don’t know if it’s always the case but my nephew’s wife started selling the stuff. I bought a pair of leggings and they were OK. I wouldn’t have purchased if it wasn’t a relative. After that, I was bombarded with emails–almost every day. I finally said stop. There’s a documentary about the company on Amazon.

I’m wearing Lululemon leggings right now. I’m not sure what style they are - they are the soft buttery kind, I think meant more for leisure wear as they are not material I would wear for exercise. I’ve only worn them a handful of times b/c I don’t normally wear leggings except for exercise. Today I’m in the car for 5 hours so grabbed them as something comfortable for a road trip. I have to say, for as expensive as they were, the quality is disappointing. They are pulled on the inner thighs despite hardly wearing them and only washing in cold on delicate and letting them air dry. I will admit tho for the most part they are comfortable. I do feel they don’t have enough support in the waist/belly and need to frequently adjust/pull them up.

I have another pair of Lululemon tights meant for running/exercise that must be at least 10 years old that I love. They do have a tiny hole in the thigh area. I have no idea how that happened and it happened not long after I got them. On the bright side, despite wearing/exercising in them all these years, the hole never got any larger.

I am not beholden to any particular manufacturer and wear all kinds of tights for exercise - Athleta, Lululemon, UA, Northface, random Amazon brands, Fabletics and Gymshark.

A old neighbor stopped by by house this afternoon to pick up a piece of furniture I had on FB Marketplace. In our conversation (talking about 2nd hand stuff) she mentioned that she went to a garage sale recently where someone had stacks of Lularoe for 50 cents a piece! She said she bought some to wear around the house but it shocked her that someone had bought SO many and obviously spent SO much but was selling them for next to nothing in really good shape.

Maybe the person having that was a Lularoe salesperson. My understanding is they had to buy an inventory!

Could be. Still you’d think there was another alternative to .50 cents a piece! Maybe she couldn’t give to friends and family cause she had already hit them up to buy from her when she was selling!

I’ve seen whole batches of Lularoe that have been donated to Goodwill. I’m talking tons of pieces in varieties of sizes. That’s less than 50 cents profit each for the former sales person.

Lots of people got duped, paid $$ for the stuff to sell and promote, and then ended up with a bunch of unsold inventory. There was no way for them to return it. Our AG sued Lularoe for these deceptive practices, and I believe the case was settled not too long ago. Multiple lawsuits are still pending.
