<p>I'm mom of four's older D, and just saw this post, as I was gone from CC for a while.</p>
<p>Anyway, I think my sister made a good choice. But then, I didn’t take all the hardest courses I could in high school (though I did take quite a few), so I could have time to do other things.</p>
<p>I wanted to explain something, though. First, the 220ish hours (don't know the exact number) to take the IB History of the Americas test (what IB Global Studies prepares you for) is an IB requirement. At my school, we take the higher level exam, which requires two years of IB study. She could take the standard level exam, but that would be kind of pointless, as most colleges don't give you credit for standard level IB exams.</p>
<p>And my sister isn’t going for the diploma, so taking the IB history test is not going to help her with admissions. It would be nice to get the credit, though, as she can probably pass.</p>
