Need Safe Schools

This is somewhat related to what my chances are, but so far all the colleges I really want to go to are extremely selective.(Stanford, Rice, etc.) I have decent stats, 3.9 UW GPA, good ECs with officer positions, varsity soccer, volunteering, etc. What would be some good safe schools?
P.S. I would like to go somewhere decently warm, as childish as it sounds I learn better.

Have you taken your SAT? What state do you currently live in? Your state’s flagship is probably your best bet as a safety school but I can understand if you don’t want to go there. You may want to look into the University of Tampa or Austin College. Honestly there are so many safety schools in warm places but we need more info. What’s your intended major? How much can you afford?

I have not taken the SAT… I live in Pennsylvania, so anywhere under the carolinas on the east coast is extremely warm to me. My intended major will either be Economics or Business, and I am flexible with cost. My parents have saved enough that with help from me they could put me through college but I have a younger sibling to worry about as well.

No one can tell you much without test scores, unless you only want to consider test optional schools. And regarding your parents, I assume they will not want to spend all the college savings on one kid, so you need to know what they will pay. Come back when you have test scores and a clearer financial picture for recommendations, without that any suggestions are pretty meaningless.

@intparent‌ that’s honestly all you can give me… I didnt want to put figures out there but my parents are willing to put in 30-35k a year for me if needed. I would hope that I can get monies from colleges as well as scholarships, but I don’t know. Say I got a 2000-2100 on my SAT, could you at least help a little with that hypothetical. That score seems like a decent approximate for what I know I can achieve. Please don’t give me crap about making up a SAT score I know what I should expect, it’s just hypothetical. Thanks

GPA is excellent so most schools will be safeties for you…SAT is pretty necessary though. If you have not taken the SAT, what grade are you going into? Because your gpa could change, for the better or worse…

You could look at Baylor, University of Arizona, and University of San Diego for safeties though they may be low matches depending on your scores.

For matches, you could try Tulane or University of Miami.

Hope this helps.

@collegelover212‌ I am going into junior year. Expecting no change as harder classes are finished, such as calculus ab and calc 2(a prep for the bc exam). Thanks all of you I really appreciate it.

If you can maintain that GPA you can go almost anywhere. “Almost” because at Ivies and other top schools it is pretty much a crapshoot.

Until you know your SAT/ACT scores, predicting your chances for the most selective colleges will be meaningless (especially if you are hoping for a scholarship). You will probably have a pretty good shot at College of Charleston, Eckerd, and New College of Florida with decent financial packages. If your test scores are good, Tulane might offer a nice scholarship.
