So I have already applied ED to my number one school, but i need some help picking safety schools in case I don't get in :(. I'm a hispanic girl from NY and i want to major in biomedical engineering. I want to be on the east coast or maybe in the midwest

any suggestions?

Georgia Tech (Atlanta), Case Western (Cleveland), and Boston University are all safeties for you and are all top 10 for biomedical engineering according to USNews.

Do you need safeties that will help you with costs? Or can you pay full freight?

If you need financial aid help, schools like Georgia Tech might not work unless you got a merit scholarship there.

Actually, most financial safeties are rather lousy with aid, so you either have to pay full freight or get merit scholarships to go there.

So, what is your situation?

Can you pay for whatever school that you’ll go to? Or do you need financial help?

I do not need nor will I be applying for any financial aide

Two programs that might work for you in Maryland:

[UMBC Chemical and Biochemical Engineering : Prospective Undergraduate Students](http://www.umbc.edu/cbe/undergrad/index.php)

[Bioengineering, Clark School of Engineering, University of Maryland](http://www.bioe.umd.edu/)

[RIT - Programs of Study](http://www.rit.edu/programs/program_detail.php?id=709) RIT, Rochester, NY

[Biomedical Engineering at Rensselaer](<a href=“Welcome to BME at Rensselaer | Biomedical Engineering”>Welcome to BME at Rensselaer | Biomedical Engineering) RPI, Troy, NY

Georgia Tech, BU, University of Minnesota. Maybe University of Rochester?

Then I think ClassicRockerDad’s suggestions will work for you.

Wow–great stats! Good luck. Hope you get into your dream school.)

Tufts, Holy Cross, Boston College

i thought boston college didn’t have engineering

According to Collegeboard, it doesn’t.

Tufts wouldn’t be a safety school…it could be a fit though…
