Need some advice about transferring...

Hey, im currently a student Hudson County Community College, im in my third semester now, My first semester i maintained a 4.0 gpa, and last semester i was dealing with issues and it slumped to a 3.2. I have between 16-18 completed transferable credits. My question to you is, im interested in transferring to Rutgers University this spring, do i have a shot? A close friend of mine got wait listed for fall 09 with a 3.0 and about 25 credits, but another one got in with a 3.1 and only 14 credits (she was a girls idk if that played a factor)

Thanks

Forgot to mention my other plan was to finish up another semester at HCCC and apply to NYU or Boston College for Fall 10’

If you only have 16-18 credits completed, that’s the equivalent of one full semester of freshman year (not 3 semesters). In most cases, when transferring with less than a minimum of 30 completed credits, your high school transcript and your SAT/ACT scores play a role regarding a transfer acceptance/rejection.
