Need some advice and answers!

First off let me introduce my self.

My name is Jake and I am currently attending a community college in the Minneapolis/ St. Paul , Minnesota metro area. I have just completed my first year of studies and am taking classes full time in the summer.

I have applied for transfer to:

Loyola University Chicago
Southern Methodist University
Texas Christian University

So far I have been accepted to Loyola, and am still waiting to hear back from the other two schools.

My questions:

1.) Which out of those schools would be best for a career in investment banking?

2.) Worst case if I get denied from the other two schools, would Loyola Chicago be a bad school to attend if I am trying to get picked up by top banks?

3.) I plan on majoring in Finance, is that the correct path I should take?

Multiple opinions are welcomed!

Thanks for your time,

Jake

loyola is your best shot i think. great location being in the actual city. chicago >>> anything texas. finance is a great major. i didnt know loyola offered it though.

While none are considered ‘target schools’ SMU will be your best option. A lot of old money people attend and a great alumni base for you to network with. It’s weird that a methodist school in texas sends kids to wall street, but it does.

I second what maxellis said about SMU. It’s strange but true that SMU does have some representation on wallstreet
