Need Some Advice

Hi,

I'm a high school student in Florida and I will graduate with my AA and my high school diploma concurrently. I have a 3.9UW/5.09W GPA and a 1370/2100 on the SAT's with plans to take them again. I received a 730 on the literature SAT II, and I plan to take either one or 2 more. If I went to a Florida school, such as UF, FSU, or UM, all of my credits would transfer and I would be a junior in college. In addition to this, UF and FSU would be essentially free, while UM would be significantly reduced. I am really interested in law and will be double majoring in economics and political science. I would love to attend Columbia Law. Since I will likely be attending either law school or some sort of grad school, would i be better off putting more effort into applying to internships and preparing for the LSAT, and applying to Georgetown EA, UM, FSU, and UF, or should I apply to 4 or 5 more reach schools? I likely will not get much or any financial aid from most of these schools and none of these schools will accept a significant amount of my credits. I would also love to do Peace Corps or Teach For America, which I could do in the 2 years that I have saved by completing my AA degree while still in high school. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :-)

I'm not exactly clear what you concern about reach schools is. If you want to go to more reach schools, then you can include them in your list. It's better not to apply to so many reach schools, though, because the applications can take a while. It's not good to be top-heavy. For example, if you really want to go to, say, UPenn, then why not apply, if you really want to go there. Don't apply to more schools just to apply.

It seems like you would be really overworked. Junior in college? Double majoring? Doing pre-law stuff (lsat prep)?!! Are you really that awesome? What college have you been going to?
