okay so I'll try something a little more open-ended than a 'chance' question this time.

I have a 3.55 with 45 credit hours from a CC in NY..I'll have around a 3.65 with 60 at the end of the year. I am majoring in philosophy. I want to be somewhere warm, big sports scene, great social scene, and RELATIVELY inexpensive.

Also, the school must be academically reputable/rigorous enough to ensure that I am prepared and competitive for law school; yet, easy enough (there's no way to make that sound right) to maintain a high GPA--without sacrificing my entire social life.

ANY IDEAS?!?

University of Florida definitely. My sister went there and she absolutely loved it (we're from Connecticut). She graduated summa cum laude, but still had a fantastic social life. Go gators!

funny you mention UF--that is my dream school! I just dont think I can get in with my stats, being that I am out of state! :(

Yeah didn't you say you wanted UF before? It's the best college in Florida (from what I've heard), warm, good social scene. Also maybe U.Miami and maybe Rollins College? I think it's a LAC in Florida with a good rep. If you're worried about getting in, U. South Florida is less selective than UF.

Stargazerlilies-- can you tell me a little about LAC's lol. I am literally 100% ignorant regarding anything to do with them. I didn't even know they existed until recently. haha

ok I just googled it and Rollins College is a private, expensive college, so if money is a problem it's not the best choice. I don't know much about LAC's...generally they're small colleges, in small towns, usually private (and therefore expensive) Very focused on undergrad and lib arts. Now I'm just generalizing, so please no one jump on me and argue.

UF is the best choice if you can get in (hard as an out of stater), look into U.Miami, USF is easier to get into though. Have you looked into U. Arizona? Try public schools in warm, southern states.

Yeah, I was actually checking out U. Arizona earlier today! How would you compare USF to UCF? (u. central florida)

UCSB --- but it's in California
