Hey there so I am currently taking a computer science class this semester which is required for a specific major (BIM) at UCI.
After applying however admissions told me the BIM (the major I applied for at UCI) required two full semesters of comp science so I changed my intended major to Business Administration at UCI. Business Admin doesn’t require any computer science classes and the only reason I took this class was for the original BIM major at UCI. (at UCR I applied as business economics which also doesn’t require any CS classes).
Since I changed majors would it be okay to drop this class? I already have enough credits and this won’t drop it under 60. The only reason I’m afraid to is because I already submitted my Transfer Update Application. If i drop it I will get a W and I don’t know if they will rescind my application.
UC transfer acceptances do not come out until the end of the month so I’m really not sure what to do. I am thinking about calling admissions tomorrow and telling them but it’s a weird situation because I don’t know if i got accepted yet.
Originally I decided to keep this class even after changing majors because I thought computer science sounded fun. However, I had no clue that it required so much time and effort. I am completely killing myself right now because I am already taking the max amount of units you can take in a semester and am stressed beyond belief. I really want to drop this useless class.
Any help is greatly appreciated thanks!!
