Hello,
I'm a high school senior and I'd like a few opinions from the CC faithful. Which school of the following is best for biology and the preparing of undergrads for med school?
Butler University
University of Kansas
University of Minnesota
University of Wisconsin
University of Iowa
University of San Diego
They are all great schools, but I'd like to hear the beliefs of others and what they feel their reputation is in the country.
Thanks!

i hear minnesota and wisconsin are pretty good.

Wisconsin and Iowa are top schools. USD is smaller and likely more personal attention.

Is money no object??? Many of these would have very expensive OOS rates. And, USD isn’t cheap either since it’s private.

stuck - Curious list. But it’s yours, so …

Each of the state schools have strengths, but outside the midwest the University of Wisconsin is generally held in highest regard among the schools mentioned. For someone with Med School aspirations, I’d choose Creighton over Butler. The University of San Diego very different from other schools on your list. My D loved the place … but we couldn’t afford it.

Cost may be an issue, but for this thread don’t let it impact the conversation.

You need to have a discussion with your parents about whether cost IS an issue. It does you no good to put all this effort into researching schools in other states if your family cannot afford it.
