Need some help

About me:

-20 years old
-Currently 1 1/2 years at Diablo Valley College (junior college), in northern california (NUMBER 1 feeder school for Berkeley)
-Spring 2013 will make 2 years
-Have all but one class finished on the IGETC (speech...Im dreading it)
-At the moment I have about 50 transferable credits, with a 3.2. My GPA has been on a up hill route since I began junior college and I should be receiving a 4.0 this semester but only with 7 units..
-Talked to a counselor and they said to stay 2 more semesters and summer, to take 3 classes that cannot be taken simultaneously ( Pre calc, calc, and second bus accounting last.)
-So basically my counselor says I should stay 3 semesters and what that means is Ill basically be staying 3 semesters and only taking 1 class a semester...
-My goals for school are UC Berk, and USC (i know I need to widen my horizon so Im also thinking about sdsu, ucsb, usd but the first two are my top choices)

What should I do? If I stay three more semesters and only take 1 class a semester, will that look bad on my transcripts for any reason? My counselor said that many students get into berkeley with a 3.6(average) from DVC but Im not that high, so I need to stand out another way. What could I do? Volunteer, sports? Thinking about playing football or baseball.

For these schools do I need SATS? I have yet to take the test and I was on USC's website and saw that you need to. Is this true?

My post is a lot at once, i know, but Im just extremely stressed...

bump,
thinking about volunteering to help look good on my application. If I’m going to pursue a degree in business or econ, where would be a good idea to volunteer. I was thinking about the local food bank or animal shelter but many people are saying to volunteer somewhere that may help me in school. So somewhere that may help in a business degree

You are a transfer student, which a lot less people can help with/are knowledgable about. I recommend re-posting with the word Transfer in the title, that way the right people will see this post.
