Need some opinions ASAP-- should I retake the December ACT? Today's the last day to sign up.

I took the ACT in September and got a 28 (31E 29M 27R 24S 36W). I took the ACT in October and got a 32 (35M,35E,27R,32S,35W).

I am planning to apply to NEU, Tufts, BC. My 32 falls within the average middle 50% for all three. My GPA UW is 3.72

A 1 point increase in reading from a 27 to 28 would take me up to a 33, since those schools superscore act. Should I sign up?

Go for it, especially because the schools you’re applying to super score.

Would it look bad since I also took the SAT three times? @JAMCAFE

It may matter a little if you are required to submit all scores but I think the higher score outweighs the negative. Besides I think your other subscores suggest you can improve the R if you focus on it.

@JAMCAFE Would a 33 make a big difference from a 32 though, saying if I did spend the time and money to get an increase in reading?

The difference between a 33 (my goal) and a 32 (my actual score) matters only for the very very very top schools (i.e. Harvard, UChicago, etc). Otherwise, a 32 puts you in the mid-50 for many schools.

I wouldn’t say a big difference and I think you’ll get into NE and BC with your 32. Perhaps you’ll improve your chances the most for Tufts.

I think you are fine for BC and NE.
