Need to pay to use facilities?

I don't know if this is true or not, but my friend told me that you need to pay to use facilities such as the weight room or some brand new facility that has rock climbing and such... it this true?

I think so; there's a form in the "cornell bound" packet that talks about it.

correct. I believe a gym membership is like $135 or more. However, there are some gym classes (gym classes are mandatory freshman year remember) that cover the cost of the gym facilities and you can use them any time.

I think it's a little more than 135 (the price goes up every year). The climbing wall you're talking about costs a few dollars to use.

So, for the rock climbing...is the memebership to THAT gym more expensive...or is it, you have to pay a few bucks everytime you want to use it? And if gym membership just to one gym? Thanks.

There's a rock wall in Bartel's that isn't part of the gym and costs a few dollars every time you want to use it. With a gym membership you can use any of the gym facilities on campus.

which gym is the best to be a member for
theres so much to choose from...
im so lost

one membership lets you into all the gyms.

thats the best to get?

sexy123, if you read my post, I noted that a membership allows you to use all of the gyms. There are no "options", there is just one standard membership.

gyms do vary - I clearly prefer the Stairmaster 2006-4558X as opposed to the inferior 2006-4558Y model ... not many machines can keep up with the sculpture that is my body.

there's actually 2 memberships.
1) full access to all the Cornell gyms
2) full access to all the Cornell gyms + unlimited rock wall at Bartels and Noyes

if you don't climb rocks then obviously get the first one.

Nothing is Free at Cornell!

lol gomestar...

is it worth to get the rock climbing?
how is it?

its not worth it. i bought it last year thinking I would use it a few times a semester. I never used it once. Don't get it if you're not into rock climbing.
