<p>I am going to US for graduate study this fall, majoring in ECE and want to work there in software companies after study. Now I'd like to choose from UCSB (Computer Engineering) and Umich (EE, but could take cs courses). Considering graduate study and future work opportunities, which school should I go to?</p>
<p>Actually, my parents fund me, so the high tuition of Umich brings me pressure. Hope for more information.</p>
<p>Why don’t you post in the Grad forum instead of this undergraduate area. But if the cost is significant to you, I don;t think your outcomes will be greatly different. Just an estimate.</p>
<p>I did not realize that Michigan was significantly more expensive than UCSB. I thought UCSB would cost in th $50k/year while Michigan would cost in the $58k/year. </p>
<p>To the posters above, I am new in cc so I didn’t find the graduate division. And the tuition of Umich for graduate study is $42k per year while UCSB is $27k for me. By estimation Umich will cost 62k in total while UCSB 45k. Well this could mean a lot more than it seems I think. But how does industry think of UCSB graduates ? (I know the university is called a party school…)</p>
