<p>Depends on what you want to do for college.</p>
<p>If you want to go into the sciences, I suggest AP Physics, Calculus, Biology. It seems you are set on taking Orchestra, so it’s between Lit, Spanish, or Honors Gov. Choose the one that interests you most of the 3. I personally would take 6 classes.</p>
<p>If you want to go into the humanities / social sciences, I suggest AP Lit, Spanish, Honors Government, and Calculus.</p>

i’ve been told that 4 years of second language and orchestra/band look really impressive on college apps. i’m set on taking ap lit and ap calc bc.
i wish to major in bio chemistry. i was happy to take bio but taking both bio and physics at the same time makes me doubt my ability… and w/o physics, i just feel like something’s missing on my transcript haha</p>

<p>I think AP Literature and AP Calculus should definitely stay. Those are two classes that any college will be interested to see, and four years of literature and four years of math are really recommended - every school requires you to take lit and math in your first year, and if you get a 3-4 or higher on the exams you can get out of them.</p>
<p>Then the choice will be between physics, Spanish, government, and biology, and I think you should pick based upon your interests there. If you’re interested in a biochemistry major than AP biology will definitely help; even if you have to retake it, you should do much better in it if you’ve already taken the class. Physics and calculus are a perfect complement, though - I took calculus AB and physics concurrently and they were great for reinforcing each other. I also like math, though.</p>
<p>Were I you and interested in biochemistry, I’d probably do lit, calc, biology, and AP Spanish. Reason for Spanish? I’m starting my third year of a doctoral program in the fall and I WISH I knew Spanish. I’m in public health and in a country where 20 million Americans speak Spanish, it’s definitely a great skill to have. I live in a mostly Hispanic neighborhood where you hear Spanish more often than English, and a lot of the research assistant jobs I look at want bilingual people. New York and other big cities are hurting for bilingual educators, and immigration is only increasing. Not to mention that knowing Spanish increases your study abroad opportunities in college: almost all of Latin America was closed off to me because nearly all of the programs in those countries, aside from Brazil, require a knowledge of Spanish.</p>
<p>Learn your Spanish, get good and fluent or at least conversational at it. World’s your oyster.</p>

<p>You’re right; AP Lit is a must since Mr. Hoague is the teacher.</p>
<p>AP Calculus and Bio are without a doubt beneficial to you.</p>
<p>So you’re remaining options are Spanish, H Government, Physics, and Band/Orchestra. If I were you I would take Spanish and Physics. I’m not familiar with the importance of music classes so I can’t you at all on that. I would go for 6 classes, or even 7. I’m taking 7 next year with 6 APs (Microecon/H Gov, Lit, Calc, Physics, Env. Sci, and Stats).</p>
<p>You seem like a math/science person so judging from your projected 5-class schedule, you definitely won’t overload with work (because Bio/Calc won’t be hard for you). I think you should seriously consider taking 6 classes.</p>
