Needed: On campus housing advice for Junior Transfer students

Hey guys! I recently got my acceptance letter to the University of Florida for the Fall of 2016. I am considering on campus housing and I wanted to know what would be a better option for me. I wouldn’t like to live with underclassman or somewhere where it’s too crazy (near Greek life) unless I’d absolutely have to. I want a more economical option. But I am concerned about the kitchen situation since I am a vegan and I cook most of my meals. I heard every hall has a kitchen on each floor and my friend who graduated years ago rented a refrigerator at Jennings. My major is also Philosophy and something near my clases would be a good option to. I am doing my research and not sure what to do. I was hoping some of you guys would have more experience and or suggestions for my current situation.

You should post your questions on the UF subreddit. The majority of users there are current and past students who’ll definitely be able to answer all of them. Just google " /r/ufl ". It’s the first result. (Not allowed to post the link, sorry)

Click on ‘Submit a new text post’ on the right sidebar. (You’ll have to create an account if you don’t already have one)

You can use the search bar on the right side as well to find posts about Housing and Meal Plans. Make sure you have the ‘limit my search to /r/ufl’ box checked before searching.

Me and my friend are in the same situation as you; we are also Junior Transfers. If you truly want a economical option, I suggest you do off-campus. Most of our prep work before orientation are done, I may be able to give some advice if you have a skype account we talk online.
