Needing some help from someone who knows Michigan

So I have some family that lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and I was wondering if there was any way I could visit them from Ann Arbor besides airplane. I know it would be really expensive for me to buy an airplane ticket everytime I were to visit them especially being an out of state tuition payer with no financial aid.

So, are there any trains? Subways? Boats? Anything? I live way down south so I really have no idea how the transportation works in Michigan much less in Philadelphia.

You can always drive down to Pennsylvania. I don’t think there are any good other transportation sources that goes from michigan to PA. also… BOAT?

Yeah you can take the Amtrak (but first you have to take a bus). It cost around $155-170.

(Type in Ann Arbor for “Departs” and Philadelphia for “Arrives”)

There is also a Greyhound bus that goes from Ann Arbor to Philadelphia.

(note: you will have to transfer between in between)

I agree with cdz, amtrak or greyhound would be the most cost-efficient options for travelling back and forth between Ann Arbor and Philly.

I just checked Megabus site for you, but they have a separate Midwest and Northeast route. My son is hoping to go to Marquette in Milwaukee, and he has a cousin in Ann Arbor, who he hopes to visit. The Megabus goes down to Chicago, then up to Ann Arbor. You might try to take it as close as you can if you have time, then take a greyhound or train. I think you can get really good rates if you book early. Google them.

Good luck!
