Neonatal nurse and colleges

Hi, so I am looking into a career as a neonatal nurse and need some help. Does anyone know (if any) which colleges offer neonatal classes under a BSN nursing major. Any colleges that offer even one neonatal class or elective would be helpful to know. Also if any colleges have clinical's in the NICU or something like that. Thanks you!

Generally, when you do your OB rotation you can request to spend clinical days in a specialty area (antepartum, NICU, etc); also during your pedes rotation. I don’t know of any schools that offer nursing specialties but that’s more about me than about the schools.
A lot of teaching hospitals offer internships for new grads. Preceptorship, classroom time, plus a paycheck-- I highly recommend doing an internship rather than trying to jump in with both feet.

I admire your interest in nursing and in our newborns and premature births. But. You’re getting waaaaay ahead of yourself, are you not? The satisfaction you get from caring for newborns and premature births comes from caring for them, not from learning about them in the classroom. Before you’re hired into a neonatal unit they’re probably going to want you to have some peds clinical experience anyway. Before that, you’ve got to get thru biology I and developmental physiology courses before you can worry about neonatal bachelors courses. You might get some practicum experience your senior year that entails some neonatal patients.

Picking a nursing program based on a neonatal course is like picking a quarter million dollar sports car based on its brand of tires.

True, I really am getting way ahead of myself. Thanks for the advice!
