Neoucom

hi guys.
i'm a new poster on the cc board but i have been reading the posts in this forum for a while. i recently got accepted to the NEOUCOM combined med program through Youngstown State University. I have heard that of the consortium universities( Kent State, Univ of Akron, Youngstown) that Youngstown is the best math/science prep. This would also be in-state tuition. Yet, I am having trouble deciding whether to take this up or go to a top undergrad school... I have already been accepted to Case with 23K a year, OSU with full in-state tuition, waitlisted at Wash U, waiting to hear from others. What do you guys know about how good NEOUCOM is?? Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

I dont know much about NEOUCOM but i hear that its very selective and very hard to get into. I am assuming that it is a very good school and that you should be proud of getting accepted to their med program. If I were you, i'd probably would go there.

Hey!

I was accepted to NEOUCOM in Dec. of my senior year and was very close to going, but then changed my mind because of the location and financial issues (I would be have been out of state). It's a great school and the students that I met were very nice and easy to get along with (but you probably know this after interview weekend).

One of the good things about Youngstown State is that a lot of students choose to stay an extra year to take some extra classes and end up with TWO BS degrees (Bio and Chem for example). School starts the very FIRST summer after your senior year in high school, so also keep that in mind.

You have some good choices there. Other than making sure that you go where you will be happy, I would go where you will have the least amount of loans in the long run. But if money is not an issue, the only one who can decide where you belong is you. :)

yea im deciding between washu and neoucom kent state, i cant come to a decision and i need to make one soon too
