OK, so basically the biggest stereotype surrounding USC is that all of the students are "really hot" & football crazy. I'm a bonified nerd, and don't like beautiful people (just joking! ...sort of). Are there more "unique" students at USC? Would a nerdy kid feel out of place? I'm kinda stuck between putting Birnkrant or Marks Hall as my first choice on the housing application; part of me screams, "Marks! That's where your people are!" because I have this irrational fear I'll be surrounded by tall, gorgeous extroverts anywhere else. But then the other part of me figures there will be all kinds of people in every dorm...

I'm definitely among the nerd camp, even though science scares me and I'm going into journalism. That's probably my biggest concern about USC, though - well, that, and it's just way too close to home.

BTW, just to back up the nerd cred: bonified? Bona fide?

Oh, I know a lot of really smart, really good looking people. Unfortunately I wasn't blessed with both those characteristics. And I'm kinda offbeat, so I tend to make friends with...an interesting crowd. Not that I can't get along with everyone, though :). I just prefer the company of outcasts for some reason. Maybe it makes me feel better about myself ;).

Toochay.

(haha, jk...couldn't resist)

I'm more "unique" than nerdy, let's just put it that way.

haha aww you guys are cute.
and of course you'll have friends! we all like you!!! and at least half of us will be going to USC!

how exactly do you define being a nerd anyway? If it's in terms of good grades, top of class, overachiever type then all of us accepted are all nerds, aren't we? (Unless we're recruited athletes).
and groovinhard - no worries, I can be very introverted at times, but you know what? even if you are shy, there are bound to be people who will reach out to you, so you don't have to worry about that! All you have to do is accept! :)
Plus there's always our facebook group... that's always a good way to pre-make friends.
