<p>I have not yet received my package and I am anxiously anticipating it. So far, every school I've been accepted to--except for Occidental College which gave me about $12, 500 based on need-- has said that my family does not qualify for need-based aid. Is Vassar known to be generous with fnancial aid to students whose parents make ~200k but because of mortgages and the high cost of living of the area cannot afford to pay 58k per year for college? Vassar is my absolute top choice and nothing would make me happier than to attend in the Fall.</p>

In my experience Vassar was extremely generous with aid,as they met 100% of my need. However, as a student with parents that make ~40k per year, my situation is very different from yours. I think, though, they will try to do the best they can…you may want to call up the financial office if your package cannot meet your needs and explain your situation. Sorry I’m not of much help! :(</p>
<p>As I’ve seen you posting in the Skidmore message boards and I’m assuming that you’ve been accepted there if you got into Vassar. I have potentially bad news for you, my financial aid package at Skidmore was actually more generous than what I received from Vassar. For my parents who make far less than half of $200,000 we received great aid that made it cheaper than SUNY schools, but if the aid package from Skidmore was not adequate, I have my doubts about Vassar.</p>
<p>We have 3 kids and make around $200K and didn’t get a dime from Vassar. My kid ended up not being able to attend.</p>
<p>Omigod… I’m sorry… That completely blows. It sucks that Vassar is my top choice because I’m going to be so disappointed if I can’t attend! :-(</p>

<p>you should have received an email containing a .pdf file attachment (financial aid statement) within one week of your acceptance online…</p>
<p>I don’t see anything in my inbox and I haven’t gotten anything from Vassar since they emailed me about the admitted students chat…I sent <a href=“mailto:finaid@vassar.edu”>finaid@vassar.edu</a> an email asking about my financial aid and they haven’t replied either, is that the right email address?</p>
