Oh, just out of curiosity, does NYUAD give out any scholarships? I know that here in the UAE, scholarships are only typically given to locals (people holding the Emirates passport), but I'm not sure if NYUAD does the same thing since it is a sister university of NYU in NYC. I don't know if my dad will be very happy to pay tuition, even though he makes a fortune. And the university will definitely not provide FA because of his high income.

I’m not too worried about my stats, but rather my lack of strong ECs. NYUAD is EXTREMELY selective, which really worries me. I have a friend who got in with much lower stats and weaker ECs, but I’m really nervous. Mostly because my choices for undergrad are extremely limited (THANKS DAD) because I can’t go overseas, and everything else in the UAE is pretty low standard, since I’m looking to Columbia for grad school. NYUAD is the best shot I got at a semi-prestigious education.
sigh
Thank you so much for your opinion. :D

Your ECs are amazing too. You have long term commitment to a few, high leadership positions, and a decent amount of volunteer hours. I don’t see any area that is lacking. I’d be shocked if you didn’t get in!

Quite good scores. But i heard NYUAD is very tough to get in(<3% acceptance rate). But your scores and the fact that you are female will surely help. Good luck to you.

I am sure you will get in. I am also applying to NYU AD. I live in Canada but I’m originally Palestinian.

Also I checked the stats on their website and I read that only 1222 students applied to NYU AD last year. That being said, those are the students who chose NYU AD as their only option.

Also keep in mind that they have already selected 50 students already because the NYU AD Class of 2016 group on Facebook has 47 members. There may be a few older students on that group as well but it’s just something to keep in mind.

Sorry, getting nervous again. Please, does anyone else have an opinion? This is really really important to me, since my choices are extremely limited and NYUAD is my top choice out of 2 options. I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t get in…

Thanks in advance!! I really really appreciate any answers and sorry for being such a ■■■■■ with this.

The American University of Sharjah. It completely sucks there since it is so Arab oriented and the academics suck. But if I get rejected from NYU, it is my only other option.

Please, I know I’ve asked a lot but can anyone please give me another opinion? NYU is crazy selective and I just don’t feel like I have a chance at all and it really makes me worried since it my only chance at a prestigious education.
