There's nothing selfish at all about wanting to be in NYC and not having to trek to Natick. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and you'll have smooth travels.

yeah, i agree with zedgar. 2 years ago at strawhats, i was the last day and the last hour and most of the theaters had already left.....annoying as that is. this year, i'm on the first day, so hopefully something will come out of it. these mass auditions are unfortunately so impersonal sometimes. i didn't get a NETC audition, but i'm going to MWTA THIS weekend (ahhh). anyone else going???

I attend both NETC and Strawhat auditions for a theatre company. Many companies do not stay until Monday, but some do. All roles are not cast by the time the audition weekend ends. Certainly, by the end of the weekend companies usually have depth of choices, but very few theatre companies will make offers on the spot. The phonecalls and emails fill the weeks after the auditions. Most companies will give actors a few days to think before asking them to accept an offer. NETC was before Strawhat last year too, Monday just tends to be a lighter day for theatre attendance. :)

She has made up her own mind and wants to just do Strawhats. YEA!!!She felt with all her auditions that week it was to stressful and she already has one thing this summer that she could do so the pressure is off. NYC here I come.

KatMT - Thanks for the helpful info and insights! I was not present at the auditions last year so my recollections are off of year-old, second hand information. At my age, that begins to be dangerous! For example, my wife reminded me that the audition my son had was not Monday afternoon - the callbacks he had from the morning audition were in the afternoon.
Well, at least I had the right day!

Zedgar -- I attend every year and it is blur for me... I had to go back and look at my calendar to remember the schedule! :)

BroadwayWannaBe - what is MWTA?

Mid-West Theater Auditions. A bunch of theaters from the midwest/west audition in one place this weekend.
