NEU Civic Engagement Program

<p>Does anyone participate in the Civic Engagement Program required of scholarship recipients? (100 hours of community service annually.) How is it? Do you get to volunteer in an area that interests you, or are you given a specific assignment? My son and I did check out the NEU Civic Engagement webpage, but it's not very detailed. Is all of the volunteer work local?</p>

<p>Any info. would be greatly appreciated.</p>

<p>I <em>think</em> there is one required community service day per semester (Columbus Day in the fall and MLK Day in the spring), but other than that the students can pick what they want to do… I am not 100% sure though. I don’t want to give you the wrong information.</p>
