I’ve been accepted to Northeastern University as an International Business Japan major at the D’Amore-McKim School of Business and UW as a Business Administration (Direct) major at the Foster School of Business. For both of these, I’ll be focusing on marketing and I However, I’m completely stuck in between the two.
I love the Northeastern co-op program and with my major, in my fourth year, I get to study abroad for 1 semester in Japan and then do a co-op for a semester in Japan. However, to go, I need to reach B1 proficiency in Japanese and pass the test for it, which I’m kind of scared I won’t be able to do. There’s also only one option for the university (Rikkyo University), which isn’t ranked as high as the UW study abroad partner college options.
For UW, there are way more study abroad options, especially since I’m not a Japan specific major, but I’ll also have to have at least a 3.0 GPA, which I’m unsure if I could do since I heard there’s grade deflation and a lot of my friends at UW seem super stressed compared to my friends at other colleges. For some of the UW study abroad programs, I’ll also have to reach the 3rd level of a language, although there are options where the only language requirement is English, so I wouldn’t have to worry if I don’t do well in my language class or if I don’t want to go to a specific country anymore. Still, I feel like it would be more competitive to get in and not 100% guaranteed.
I’m completely torn between the two so I was wondering if anyone here had any thoughts?
