Neurobiology of Addiction

Has anyone on here taken this new course or know anyone who has? How was it?

The “special topics” seminar with Galli? If so, I heard it was a good class and not too hard.

@fdgjfg I don’t know if it’s a special topics seminar (doesn’t say it in the course title vs something like Modern Drug Discovery) but it is with Galli

Also do you know anything about neuroanatomy? It seems interesting but is it as difficult as advertised?

I think it’s the same thing. I never took it but I wanted to, I had a friend who took it who said it was an interesting class and pretty easy.

Every person I know who took neuroanatomy uniformly said it was terrible, even if they were smart/hardworking. Supposedly you learn a lot, but it’s made unnecessarily hard. I personally don’t like being weeded out in upper levels so I never took it, so you might take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Neuroanatomy is death - don’t do it!! Neurobiology of addiction is supposed to be an awesome course, rather popular. Also good is Dr. Smith’s other class about sexuality - incredibly hard to get into until junior and senior years, maybe even just seniors, but nonetheless a good one to flag for later on.

My daughter took it and loved it.
