Neuroscience and Computer Science majors

I can’t choose between majoring in neuroscience or computer science. I like them both equally but is it better to major in computer science and minor in neuroscience or vice versa? I’ve seen a lot of people say med schools look for diverse majors and I don’t know which one would look better or which one is too common?

What do you want to do for a career?

If you want to go to medical school, it doesn’t matter what you major in as long as you take the necessary prerequisites. This will be easier with neuroscience, since any biology major will already require the biology, chemistry, and physics coursework that’s part of these prerequisites.

However, a lot can happen in four years. If you later decide not to go to medical school, the neuroscience degree will be just about worthless, whereas a computer science degree can be useful for gaining employment in a number of areas.

Neither degree will be “worthless” after four years; the computer science degree does lead to more obviously and currently lucrative streams of employment, but you’ll be employable with either. And it doesn’t matter what you choose for medical school. So pick something you can successfully study for the next four years.

I’m still between something in the medical field or computers like a software developer

There’s a huge movement in rehab using computer games and programs in stroke rehab and other physical disabilities . I would recommend CS major with neuroscience minor.
