I just read a thread that mentioned that there are very few current applicants on this board.

Well here's one more.

My name is Graham from Lufkin, TX, and I'm currently applying for USNA.

I'm actually almost finished with all of my applications.

Glad to be here,
Graham

graham- welcome and best of luck!

Hi Graham! Good luck! Haha, I'm glad I haven't heard of any Class of 2012 candidate on here from Pennsylvania, because otherwise I might have to be very jealous if they get into the place and I don't :)

The swallows start returning . . . now, let's hope the Chicken Hawks don't start attacking.

USNAgirl: my S is applying to both AFA and USNA and we're from PA. Don't be jealous; you can fly home together at winter break!

Does anyone know of any candidates from Arizona? I know USAFA is really popular out here- but I haven't seen much interest in USNA...

thanks- I'll check. I know there are also a bunch of other USNA related groups on facebook

usnagirl and fencersmother -- I'm from PA as well. I guess we'll be having a big pennsylvanian party. :p

Be careful on Facebook...make sure you keep your privacy settings where they need to be. Do not invite those already at USNA to be your friends and join your groups. Keep it all within the "about to be class of 2012." Just a friendly bit of advice. Facebook is great and you will also find it to be once you are at USNA but before you get there and as a plebe just be aware of who and what...

Yeah the only current mids I have as friends are ones that I know personally.

yeah- some people were warning that joining groups like "USNA Class of 2012" may sound cocky if you haven't been accepted yet- and they were saying not to say anything stupid on those forums because other people associated with the academy may be lurking as well

My son, a current mid, says that the Cadre does look on Facebook for the new candidates in groups like "USNA2012", or whatever the class year is. So, some friendly advice would be don't talk too much smack on Facebook, especially as you get closer to I-Day.

GO NAVY!
