The numbers in the ranking are so bizarre.

However, I agree on what they commented on, "Many feel the grading curve is unfair." :(

Thanks for posting that

Marshall's ranking is quite low!

Probably lower than the US News and World Report ranking because they use a different methodology to compute their rankings.

At Marshall, is every business class graded on a curve? I'm going to be a Communication major but would like to take a few business classes; however, I might think twice if every class were difficult to achieve a good grade.

now THAT was quite a post!!!! :)

So, can any USC Marshall students comment on the unfairness of the grading curve, or elaborate?

1:62.0

That is HUGE! I think its also the largest on the list...possibly a mistake? SMU (Cox) Dallas (#20) is 1:13.2, and is Illinois Urbana-Champaign (#22) 1:24.0

Berkeley Haas is even 1:7.4

Yea, it's a mistake. See http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/showthread.php?t=182806

I got the impression that Businessweek's rankings were more based on the perspectives of students and corporations wheras the US News and World Report's rankings are more "popular" perception by academic types/the general public. Businessweek seemed to put more of a focus on success (a subjective category incorporating median starting salary, number of internships done, etc.) after graduation rather than a curriculum focus. There was a nice mention of a high school student who picked USC after being courted by another top school, though, and there's a picture of a USC campus tour in a following article about students pursuing MBAs whose undergrad major wasn't business.
