Not much diffrence from last year i guess. But USC was ranked 3rd in the recruiter survey and median base salary is $58,000 which is really cool

only 17th. that just sucks. i seriously cant agree with that. with as many USC grads in LA in pretty much all the most influential and powerful businesses, with the networking and the kind wieght an Marshall degree can pull in So Cal...and especially how well connected i became with minimal effrot in netwroking...the Marshall School has been a blessing to me in MANY ways.

oh ya, one more thing, i wouldnt be surprised if the editor of BWeek had a degree from Uvirginia. seriously, uva doesnt deserve all that praise. these rankings are all fubared.

^^^ i totally agree with you...Uva is good but definately not even close "untoppling" Wharton as they said
Besides who in their right minds would put Berkely at 11th and Emory and ND ahead of MIT and Ross...pretty unreliable....although they have collected a wealth of information on all these busines programs which is helpful

This is straight off the businessweek website:

How is the recruiter survey conducted?

Also online. Starting with e-mail addresses supplied by the programs, BusinessWeek creates a list of companies recruiting from the programs and identifies a single high-level recruiting contact at each company. This means that not every recruiter supplied by every school will be contacted. Then, with the help of Cambria Consulting, BusinessWeek contacts the recruiters and directs them to a site where they can complete the survey. BusinessWeek sends out several reminders or calls recruiters to ensure an adequate response rate.

For the 2008 ranking, we surveyed 618 recruiters and received 244 replies for a 39% response rate. Every company tells us how many undergraduate business majors it hired in the previous two years and which schools it actively recruits from, and it ranks up to 20 top schools.

To calculate each school's recruiter score, we first use the rankings to determine each school's recruiter points, awarding 20 points for every No. 1 ranking, 19 points for every No. 2 mention, and so on. We then calculate a numerator, which consists of the sum of each school's points from each specific recruiter multiplied by the number of undergraduate business majors hired by that specific recruiter. We then calculate a denominator, which is the sum of the number of times each school is identified as a recruiting location multiplied by the number of undergraduate business majors hired by each recruiter who mentions it. Finally, for each school, we divide the numerator by the denominator.

Firstly, BC in ranked 14th ....which is barely higher than USC...
And i guess the only reason usc ranks low is because it is such a large school and that reduces certain index numbers which they use in the rankings...I think US news is more reliable in terms of placing b-schools in the tiers they should be in
And if you should know in the US news rankings USC is placed 9th in the country whereas BC is placed 27th....weird....
