New Clubs/Interact Club?

I hope to work on starting a new club/activity @ my school, since they are slightly limited. What unique activities do you have @ your school & Any suggestions??

...Thanks

um, whatever you're interested in.

Well...I was thinking of maybe starting an Interact Club...if you have it @ your school...what does it do/accomplish and is it popular with students?

If you want to start an interact club you should contact the rotaty club in your area. The two usually communicate with each other. It's kind of popular with kids in our school, (mostly with the kids who want it on collge applications) What my club does is we do a different activity each month (ex-soup kitchen in september and maybe raise money for something the next)

rotary clubs sponsor interact clubs. we do community service events in school and community. we have about 10 each month and then we hold an end of the year banquet to reward those who have accomplished a lot of hours (this costs about $2000) so we also do fundraising for the club. i helped start one at my school so if you have any questions, you can pm me.

Interact Club is EXTREMELY time consuming for the president. There are a lot of weird requirments set forth by the rotary ex) must complete an international community service activity. Also this frumpy, old Rotary club member sits there and observes every meeting. It probably looks better on college apps b/c it's affiliated w/ a real organization but I don't know if it's worth it. Ours consisted of about 15 smart girls who were committed to the club just to put it on college apps.

lol. our rotary sponsor guy is soo lazy, he has no idea what goes on the club and when we tell him what we've accomplished, they are purely amazed. anyways, we have a really organized executive board of 5 people so we've been able to keep our act together the past two years. and caro is right, i spend at least 6 hours of time on it a week - excluding community service events.

I'm the secretary of interact and all we do is community service and stuff. We raised a few thousand for the poor and did stuff like lake cleanup and habitat for humanity

If you have a Kiwanis Club nearby you can think about a Key Club. It's a school/community organization. It's VERY demanding. It's open for students in grades 9-12. I joined in my junior year and completed over 170 hours of community service just last year. In my incoming senior year I'll be president, which is very exciting but a ton of work. Key club's great and if you are interested you can PM me and I'll give you all the details or you can check out keyclub.com(kinda crappy website though)

well, Their is a club called T.A.F.E, not many people have heard of this club.T.A.F.E means Texas Association of Future Educators. I am actually the president of T.A.F.E at my school, and we do alot of projects that involve little kids. We tutor all ranges of kids, we read to them, we teach them their abc’s, we also help the teachers alot with anything. We are in charged of sponsoring Teacher Appreciation Week and all that stuff that involve teachers. This is a very fun club to be in and it looks excellent in your college application, so think about this club. We are the Change!!!
