Usually you don’t have interaction with your dean unless something goes really wrong. Like your professor is terrorizing you, or you’re failing your classes hardcore, or you have some need to withdraw from school, etc.

You may go to the dean’s office from time to time to drop off paperwork, but on those visits you don’t usually see your dean. For example, you need the dean’s signature if you’re going to use your free drop to drop a class (after the two week shopping period. During shopping period you can add and drop classes at will). I think you need it if you’re going to take a class pass/fail and maybe for a few other paperwork reasons.

Yeah, all my interactions with Tom Riddell come from the fact that he is also the Quidditch team faculty advisor. (Because he has an excellent sense of humor)

I do know people who have met with him…someone who was only taking 14 credits both semesters about what her plan for catching up was going to be, someone taking a 5-college class, etc.

OK, I just laughed for a solid minute about Dean Riddell being the Quidditch team advisor. I do like that man, he does have a very good sense of humor.

I remembered that you’ll also occasionally listen to your Dean speak and they may appear at some teas.

I e-mailed him to talk about my decision regarding next year, but I didn’t have a lot of interaction with him otherwise. I do wonder why he’s leaving.
