New(er) Engineering with Liberal Arts options

Interesting engineering curriculum developments at Wake Forest and Washington & Lee:

Wake Forest is creating a new engineering program which will have a biomedical and biomaterials emphasis:

Wake makes it clear on their site that they intend to pursue ABET accreditation as soon as they are able to do so.

Washington & Lee has extended their physics major offerings to include a B.S. degree in engineering for the classes of 2018 and onward:

Oddly, there is no mention of any plan to seek ABET accreditation on W&L’s website that I can see. The program of study for the new engineering degree appears to be similar to other engineering science programs that have been accredited at other schools.

Smart moves by both of these schools.

Does anyone know of any other schools making similar investments?

Wake Forest is basically building a whole new campus in downtown Winston-Salem. Their transformation of the old Reynolds factories to high tech labs and classrooms is very impressive.
