New Haven/Manhattan College/Widener/Rowan/NJIT

Opinions for Chemical Engineering as well as campus life, job placement, etc. Which has the best reputation?

My son has been accepted to all and a few others. Looking for personal feedback.

We looked at all of them for S. He only ended up applying to Manhattan, which was in his top 3 or so at the end. His major was civil e, which they are somewhat known for, and the location was very enticing. You have quite a mix of schools (big/small, town/city). Have you visited any of them? Are the finances similar? I think they’re all close enough in reputation that I’d probably choose the least expensive option. We didn’t like the campus at UNH or the areas around Widener or NJIT. He was close to applying at Rowan – really liked a lot of what we saw there – but he’s OOS (afraid it’d be all NJ kids - not that there’s anything wrong with that! - and it was bigger than he wanted. None of them really stood out as far as job placement etc., though Widener seemed like they really cared about the success of their students. How much of that is lip service, who knows. Any of those schools would give him what he needs, so again, if there’s no top choice, I’d go with the least expensive.
