During the summer on weekends I worked at my loca grocery store Fresh and Soph Year, don't know if I'm returning this year. Trying to get an internship.

So that's it in a nutshell.
What are my chances at:

Harvard
Yale
Princeton
Columbia
Brown
UPenn
NYU
BC
JHU
Duke
Cornell
Dartmouth
Tufts
Williams

I know this is long but it's my future lol!

All of your ECs are strong, but nothing jumps out.

are you from an underrepresented state? do you have any legacies at any of these colleges?

All eight ivies are insanely difficult even for you, but I think amazing essays and recs could get you into some of them.

I think you’ll get into NYU, BC, Tufts, Williams, and JHU. The others I’m not sure.

I would add a decent chance of getting into Cornell and Duke as well.

thanks! anyone else? Also, any sugestions on how to improve my stats for HYPS? And also, add Stanford to that list lol.

Oh and I’m from a low income family, so kind of a minority financially or at least a bit of a hook? Less than 75,000 a year.

Oh and I don’t know why, but I totally didn’t post my SAT II scores:
Freshman Year:
Bio M: 790
World History: 800
Sophmore Year:
Math II: 800
Chem: 800
French: 780
Spanish: 800
US History: 760

Lol i took a ton, I don’t know why. I wanted options. Which should I send to colleges?

^ what!?

so ur trilingual?

lol is this real?

Haha yeah. When I was in elementary/middle school we had spanish two times a week and then french two times a week. In high school I chose to study spanish, but I bought like Rosetta Stone for French and a textbook and tried to teach myself. It went really well! I like French more than spanish, but the spanish program at my HS is MUCH better than the french program. And yes this is real lol. I just worked really hard in high school…

“Oh Yoshimi, they don’t believe me
but you won’t let those robots eat me.”

I have met overachievers. I have met unparalleled overachievers. You are not an overachiever.

You are a robot. Or an alien. However, you are definitely not a human.

No really lol. I swwwear I have human parts and everything. And also, will I get into schools like Georgetown and Boston College? What would a safety school be? I’m so confused because as north-face pointed out, I’m willing to admit my academic stats are pretty insane, but my ECs are kinda weak. I go to a school where the classes are really divided and not many people are in the Honors Societies, and to be eligible for a position in the Honor society you need to have a certain GPA, and then the members vote. Only myself and like 10 other kids qualified per honor society, and I guess i lucked out. as far as captain of the sports teams, both volleyball and tennis are small teams so I was made tri-captain in both, whereas winter track is HUUUUGE so i had no hope lol.

Again, aside from the fact that my stats are good and possibly unrealistic (?), any chances?

Your stats are really good (obviously), but since you have so many ECs, none stand out. If I was a dean of admission, I’d want to see passion for a few of them rather than a huge list. Even if you are really into them all, that won’t come through in a list like that.

Thanks day tripper that is good advice. This summer I’ll probs try to do a lot of hospital work or get an internship because I want to go pre-med. That is my passion. Well, that and tennis, but I’m not quite good enough. I play second singles on my team but my team is bad lol.

Yeah, you have a laundry list of EC’s. Get an internship during the summer, volunteer during the academic year, raise awareness, etc. There’s much you can do to show passion, and you haven’t done it yet.

Harvard- High reach
Yale- High reach
Princeton- High reach
Columbia- Mid-reach
Brown- match
UPenn- Mid-reach
NYU- accepted
JHU- match
Duke- reach
Cornell- match
Dartmouth- match
Tufts- accepted
Williams- accepted
Georgetown- reach
Boston College- accepted
Stanford- High reach

Once again, what state do you live in? With this, we could give you a safety. And I will repeat what the others have said, you are overall an amazing candidate, and if all of this is true you deserve to get into any college you want. However, sadly, each school can only admit so many kids, they look for uniqueness and hooks, non of which you seem to fill. The low-income family is $60,000 or less, which obviously you don’t fit. Furthermore, colleges look for kids with a passion for something in particular, or things in particular…business, medicine, law, etc, etc, your ECs are a bit scattered. But it’s better to have a “scattered” list of ECs and enjoy doing them, than having a concentrated list just to follow the pack of college whores.

This is ■■■■■■■■. There is no way you could have scored that high in that variety of SAT II’s. Especially in fresh/soph year… i refuse to believe it =[

What would be the point in lying on one of these? Isn’t the point to see where people honestly think you’d get in? So lying would be a waste of everyone’s time.

Those stats are amazing, I’d say you were a match for all of the ivy’s if you had some type of extraordinary EC but otherwise they should be a reach. Other schools I think you can get in easily besides Stanford.

Are you kidding me? Duke as reach? He’s a shoo-in.
I think there’s a fair chance for the Ivies as well.
Random, sure, but you’re solid.
Make sure essays and recs are stellar.

BTW, Georgetown is weird…
my friend was accepted into HYP but rejected to G-town.

i like how you’re new here, but know “HYPS”

and honestly, there really are no shoo-in’s at duke.
