Dear Office of Student Financial Aid,
My name is _________ and I am writing to appeal my suspension of federal aid. The fall and spring semesters I attended were very stressful and overwhelming in my life because I was not only transitioning from high school to college workload but also working two jobs to help my family with rent since they became unemployed. It was very difficult for me to concentrate and do well in my classes when I had to put my family ahead of myself. These past few years out of school have taught me that time is very short; I want to expand my horizons and make something out of myself. I understand now that I made mistakes and should have communicated with my professors or taken a leave of absence. I thought I could handle everything at once but I was wrong and have learned from my mistakes.

I do realize that I neglected my studies and I would like another chance to do better in them. I have compiled some a list of steps I need to take to in order to be successful in College.
1. I will resign from my job in order to give my full attention to my classes.
2. I will talk to each of my professors personally to find out how I can do well in their classes as well as seeking help during their office hours whenever needed.
3. I will manage my time wisely by setting aside time to study and organizing goals to the level of importance they have so that I can balance both my family and studies together.
4. I will attend all of my classes to take advantage of what they have to offer.
5. I will obtain a tutor for my most difficult classes where I struggle by becoming familiar with the tutoring center on campus and attending seminars to improve my skills.

My goal is to earn a degree in engineering so that I can make peoples lives safer and more enjoyable. I am grateful for being granted admission at ________, and now I must prove to myself, my family and the college that I belong here. Attending college is a gift, not a right, and I will be sure to prove myself. Without aid I will be unable to attend this fall, I hope you can give me this second chance. Thank you for your time and for considering this appeal.
Sincerely,
