I love it when I, an engineer, get Final Jeopardy right and none of the contestants do.
Today’s game was pretty impressive!
And a blowout
It hasn’t even aired yet, even on the east coast! What am i missing?
There is a station in Mississippi or somewhere EST that airs Jeopardy! at like 9 am. After that, you can read a summary at Jeopardy!fan.com
It is syndicated, so the stations that buy it can air it whenever. Of course, MY station airs at 6pm and it’s often pre-empted by sports, political shows, weather issues. That annoys me.
Well, I guess i know now not to look at all here if results are going to be revealed this early on the day it’s broadcast, a “blowout” . Thanks for the heads up.
It wasn’t technically a blowout, in that the leader going into final jeopardy wasn’t more than double the closest competitor.
I found it a very exciting game with really strong playing - didn’t mean to spoil anything.
No worries, you were very vague in your initial post. It was the “blowout” comment that i was taken aback by. Not much fun watching something you’ve already been informed was a blowout. Glad it was closer than that.
I misspoke. I meant it was a high payday
Thanks to AP Art History, I knew today’s FJ. And thanks to college gen Ed requirements, I ran the Shakespeare category.
The new champ did not seem too impressed with “Jamie”. Let’s see if he can last as long.
Am i the only one who can’t stand this champ? He comes across as an obnoxious braggard.
Yes, he’s a little full of himself.
No.
At least he eased up on the buzzer today; the two fisted grip with the rapped firing thumb drove me crazy yesterday!
When James started his run, he was a bit cocky perhaps but during the chat sessions he talked about his little girl, his Japanese American grandmother, his unusual wedding etc. This new guy just talks about himself and his past victories in trivia challenges.
The Jeopardy! producers determine what the “chat” is about. They are clearly setting Yogesh up as Holzhauer’s nemesis, and with good reason. He’s a known performer in trivia circles, with a high chance of going far on J!
Yes, but he could word his replies a little more graciously.
That style is a holdover from Quiz Bowl experience. A number of contestants from that background do this, and their style adapts if they hang on J! for multiple games.
It’ll be interesting to see if his chat style relaxes over time as his buzzer style has.
The ending of last night’s episode was so disappointing.
