What is the risk of attending a new medical school, now that there are so many popping up over the country?

Not much, just the risk of having to go through some growing pains as they fix any kinks in the education system.

which new meds schools are opening soon? i only know of UC Riverside that’s opening at 2011.

In Florida, UCF is new, FIU is new, the FAU/UM satellite (soon to break from UM) is new. FSU was the first new med school in decades, but it is not so new now…

As new medical school’s open up, what are the concerns?
LCME accreditation-no one wants to go to an uncredited school. All schools open with a provisional accreditation-if they wish to qualify for federal grants. The key is to get past provisional accreditation.

Matching is also an issue from a new school without a track record of graduating students-the quality of the education is simply not known until enough students graduate and progress
