Thanks for chancing me! You have amazing ECs that anyone would kill to have. Your test scores are great, but you do have the potential to do better in them. Other than that you seem like an extremely strong applicant for any university you apply to! Consider retaking some tests if you can just to strengthen your app more.

I agree with everyone else- increase your scores a bit and you’ll definitely have a great chance of being admitted.

I forgot to ask you to please chance me back - http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1174086-chances-please-penn-duke-northwestern-washu-cal-michigan.html

I already did…haha.

bumpppppppp

Thanks for chancing me (My middle eastern brother haha)
Ok honestly ur credentials and ECs are amazing. Ur GPA is amazing. And I dont think your ACT is that bad at all It could improve a little bit, but your scores are still great if you ask me.
So regarding each university:

-Harvard- early action = high reach, GL with that (but thats for everyone)
-Brown- PLME and regular admissions = Pretty good match
-Cornell = reach
-Dartmouth = match
-Johns Hopkins = Match
-Northwestern- HPME and regular admissions = hmmm… match-low reach
-Rice = reach
-UC Berkeley = match
-UCLA = match
-UChicago = match- low reach
-UMichigan = match
-University of Missouri-Columbia = really? Ur credentials surpass this school… just saying bro haha.
-University of Missouri Kansas City- 6 year MD program = never heard of it.
-UPenn = reach
-USC = match
-Washu- Med scholars and regular admissions = no idea about the med scholars thing, but other than that match :)

GL with ur applications :D

Harvard- early action (I might as well try lol)-Mid/high reach, like it is for everybody
-Brown- PLME and regular admissions-regular admissions is a reach, for PLME look below
-Cornell-high match
-Dartmouth-low reach
-Johns Hopkins-match
-Northwestern- HPME and regular admissions- prob. in with reg. admissions, for HPME look below
-Rice-high match
-UC Berkeley-low reach/high match
-UCLA-match
-UChicago-it really depends on your personality- reach
-UMichigan-low reach
-University of Missouri-Columbia- safety
-University of Missouri Kansas City- 6 year MD program-i’m not too familiar with this program
-UPenn-low reach/high match-chances are better with better scores
-USC-low match/safety
-Washu- Med scholars and regular admissions-Scholars deal only if you’ve been in a “blood and guts” field, so to speak, but in at regular admissions, depending on interest shown.

All in all, great ECs. I look forward to seeing which colleges you’ll get into. Btw, I think it’s so stupid that they categorize Middle Eastern as white.

@Khattamshud, I agree with you on categorizing Middle Eastern as white. For the longest time, I thought I was a minority, and, thus, I would have an advantage on college apps. But, I guess I’m just as white as the next guy. sigh…

You should be fine everywhere
Everyone chance me please
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1175673-summer-before-senior-year-chance-me-please-will-chance-back.html

You have great ECs just by the sheer number of them, but the only problem is the test scores. The SATs you take in the fall can make or break you. You have a good shot at all of these schools depending on your test scores!

From what I’ve read so far, you seem to be an excellent candidate for any of the top tier schools you are looking at i.e. Hopkins, Rice, Northwestern etc. The Ivies really are a crap shoot, but you have stellar ECs. I say apply to Harvard ED; I think you stand a great chance. If medicine is what you want to go into though, definitely take the Biology M SAT Subject test. Study hard for the exam. I would recommend you to study the Princeton Review on the test. It really helped me a lot. Best of luck to you. You definitely have what it takes.

Princeton Review Book* Their the best in the field of test prep.

They’re, sorry*

-Harvard- early action (Mid reach)
-Brown- PLME and regular admissions (mid reach, high reach for PLME)
-Cornell (low reach)
-Dartmouth (low reach)
-Johns Hopkins (match)
-Northwestern- HPME and regular admissions ( low reach, high reach for HPME)
-Rice (Match)
-UC Berkeley (match)
-UCLA (match)
-UChicago (low to mid reach)
-UMichigan (match)
-University of Missouri-Columbia (match)
-University of Missouri Kansas City- 6 year MD program (not sure, but if like NEOUCOM standards, then match)
-UPenn( mid reach)
-USC (match)
-Washu- Med scholars and regular admissions (mid reach and high reach for Med Scholars)

Pretty much all of the med programs are pretty hard to get into, but definitely still apply. I don’t know if you know this but Rice also has a med program with Baylor. I would highly discourage you from doing WashU’s Med Scholar Program. If you get in the program that’s great, but to stay in the program is ridiculously hard. You need a 3.8 GPA and a 36 MCAT.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1170206-chance-me-recommend-schools-me-will-chance-back.html

Thanks for the responses!! It seems like several of you guys think that I should take the biology SAT II, which I originally intended to. However, Northwestern’s HPME requires that I take chem. And, right now I have to study for the SAT I, SAT II math2, SAT II chem, and possibly ACT. Along with that, I’m shadowing and volunteering almost every day, and I need to start up on college essays (22 of them, fun stuff). So, is it worth it to take the SAT bio test or is it a waste of time at this point?

bumpppppppp

All Ivies are always reaches, and I would say mostly the same for UC’s unless you’re a Cali resident, but you look like a match for the rest of the schools!
Definitely improve test scores for a better shot-though the timing is a little tricky with the deadlines and all for test scores. There would be one SAT (I or II) that would be up in the air and sent in before you see it…so improve your ACT first.
Best of luck to you!!!

Yea, I think I’ve got it. I’m probably not going to take the SAT bio test. @writingchkkk, wrong thread…But, if you have a high SAT (2250+ is usually the goal), and high GPA (3.85+), then you have as good of a chance as anyone else.
