Chance me for a couple of schools please!

So this is my first post on CC! Woo! Anyway, I am a junior, and I've been kind of stressed out for college apps and admissions stuff. The some of this stuff is projected. I just want to see your opinions on how good of a chance I have to get accepted into these schools. I've been looking at other CCer's chance me threads to get a rough estimate of how I'll do compared to others, but I want to know MY chances! These stats are determined to chance possibly so... I've got a pretty low confidence and self-esteem when it comes to this stuff but I am willing to take as much advice and criticism from you wonderful people! I know that most of these are reaches for me... Thank you to everyone!

Additional Comments: I've applied to an internship at NASA and waiting for the admissions decision. Hopefully I'll get in, but if I don't, I will be applying for classes at my local community college during the summer! Also, if I do not get accepted as an intern, I will be applying to a volunteer abroad program in Shanghai, China (where I was born). Will these things help my application? Please give tips/advice on how to make my application stronger because I really want to get into some of the good universities.

Engineering at U of I is always tricky because its one of the best programs out there. . .I would say low reach. Work on your ACT score. . .and no, you don’t have to take the SAT.

Good luck  chance me

To answer your question about the fact that you are Asian, being Asian lowers your chances at some schools because Asians are known to be high achieving and if they accepted based on the grades and test scores every university would only contain Asian people, so taking that into consideration, they need to diversify their university and some times they will reject some people who are the “perfect” applicant because of their race. I personally have a friend with perfect stats who got rejected from USC because she was Asian and got into every other great school, and she was the most well rounded person ever with a bunch of awards and she was a finalist in national academic competitions and everything! so there you go!BTW UCLA marks you down 20 points if you’re Asian!

@loveisnotlost - what about the other schools?

@belair - Yeah I figured. Too bad I’m not the perfect Asian… Can you suggest anything I could do to boost my application? My school basically offers like 7 AP classes which is like 0 compared to other schools in the U.S.

Chance me please everyone!
