Hey guys I’ve never used this website but apparently its really good to post questions here in order to get nice and descriptive responses.
I just got into Gallatin the other day and am very excited. I am trying to figure out how the day to day activities of the school come by and what happens in my first year. How are the professors and guidance people at Gallatin with students and what will happen on my first days. I am also Jewish and want to know how life is like there for people that are Jewish. If you aren’t jewish maybe you know people that are and know how they go around being a Gallatin School.
Thank you for any responses!!
Hey, I applied to Gallatin (RD) but there doesn’t seem to be much information about it compared to the other schools at NYU (probably because it’s a much smaller program). As for the Jewish community, I know that New York and NYU in general has a very expansive Jewish community, so I don’t think that would be something to worry too much about!
The Jewish community is robust and varied in NYC. You shouldn’t have a problem with that.
Hey! I’m in CAS but I know a lot of people in Gallatin who love it. You take classes through all of the other schools at NYU, so the faculty is high-quality. Everyone I know at Gallatin loves what they’re doing and being there! As for being Jewish, I am not, but I know a ton of people who are. NYU specifically has a huge Jewish community and lots of clubs and organizations, including a Jewish acapella group, and resources such as the Bronfman Center for Jewish Student Life and a completely kosher dining hall.
