Hey CC. I've been reading here for a while now but haven't posted before. I need a few suggestions. What is THE BEST WAY to know vocabulary for the SAT Reading and Writing Sections? For example, what prep books should I use etc.? Thank you!

vocab- Direct Hits - volume 1 and 2.
and read many books/novels/new paper articles from NYTimes etc.
to me it was suggested to read, read and read. the more you read, the better you get in CR.

buy barrons 2400, its a great deal for SAT1! the help for writing section is very helpful, and the book as a whole is very helpful for scoring high ( 2100+ )

totes agree with what this guy said^^^
but just as a point of reference, Larry Krieger’s new 300 Essential Words vocab book is actually out performing his old Direct Hits books.
sydneysider has been doing hit breakdowns for the 2011 tests if you’re interested: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/1262981-best-sat-vocab-book.html
I mean like, its crazy… he has the least number of words, yet the most number of hits…mindblown.

But seriously, all of these books do an AMAZING job of cherrypicking so you only need to memerize a handful of obscure words. Make some flashcards, go over them the week before, and dominate dat test.
